.sg ccTLD Background

The .sg is the country code top-level domain (ccTLD) for Singapore. Administrated by the Singapore Network Information Centre, the .sg registration operations are processed by approved registrars. The SGNIC also provides the technical contacts for .sg domain registrations. The .sg registrations are carried out on a first-come first-served basis.

Local presence in Singapore is necessary for the registration. The applicant must have local contacts, citizenship or company in Singapore. The administrator controls the .sg domain name system and the registration of second level domain and third levels under second level.

.sg Domain Name Requirements

The .sg domain name can comprise characters ranging from 2 to 63 excluding the extension. The valid characters are alphabets and numbers. The hyphen is the only symbol allowed, but it cannot be used at the beginning or end of domain names. The registered .sg domain names should not be used for unlawful purposes.
