.pw ccTLD Background

The .pw top level domain extension was assigned by ICANN for the Republic of Palau, an island nation in the Pacific Ocean, in 1997. A .pw registration is open to all globally; however, those registering under .edu.pw, .gov.pw and .org.pw must be within the Republic of Palau. Organizations registering under non-commercial organizations must be registered at the office of the Corporate Registrar, or must prove his/her non-profit status in Palau. A single entity can register a number of domain names.

.pw Domain Name Restrictions

The .pw domain name can include English alphabets, numbers and the hyphen symbol. The hyphen cannot be used at the beginning or end of the domain name. The domain name can have one to sixty four characters in it. Domain names consisting of numbers alone are not allowed.
