The FSM Telecommunication Corporation is the organization that sponsors the .fm domain registration process. FSM Telecom (http://www.fm/tools.htm) has assigned the complete responsibility of managing and registering its top level domain .fm to BRS Media. The coveted .fm extension is marketed and assigned to entities in the broadcasting and internet industries by BRS Media.

Rules on Registering a .fm Domain Name

A local presence is not required. There are some rules regarding .fm registrations. The domain name can be 3 to 26 characters long. All letters (A — Z), numbers (0-9) and hyphens are available to used, but hyphens cannot appear at the beginning or directly in front of the TLD. Upper case and lower case characters are not considered distinct from each other. A domain name cannot have spaces or other special characters.

A person is allowed to register multiple .fm domains. You also have the opportunity to renew an existing .fm domain name. The registration fee has to be paid at the time of registration and it is usually for a period of one year. The .fm registration renewal fees have to be paid thirty days before the registration period ends.
